Actress Musetta Vander (pictured here, centre), despite playing the role of Sindel in 1997’s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (in which she spoke the infamous “worst line in cinematic history”), recalls her scenes with Jennifer Lopez in 2000’s The Cell as the “most embarrassing moment of [her] career.” Vander explains:

She (Lopez) just refused to chew the scenery. She acted “naturalistically.” UGH! Can you imagine? All those realistic emotions and thoughts. It was so trite.

When Vander’s own subdued performance was investigated, crew members from The Cell recall that the actress was secretly being given a daily dose of tranquilizers in an attempt to “get her to dial it back.” Vander attempted an unsuccessful lawsuit in 2002.
