Academy Award-winning costume designer Eiko Ishioka recently came forward to address the controversies surrounding the costumes from Tarsem Singh’s 2000 film, The Cell. Ishioka is quoted as saying

Jennifer Lopez’s costume is the exact same as the armour that Gary Oldman wore in 1992’s Dracula (for which Ishioka was also the costume designer). Not similar, or the same design, but the exact same pieces. It didn’t have to be let out or anything like you would expect. Jenny has a very masculine figure and Gary is very feminine, so it was easy.

When reached for comment, Lopez declined to comment but Oldman seemed to take the comments in stride, stating that he could confirm that he “ha[d] it going on.” Reporters could not dissuade Mr. Oldman from performing a lusty rendition of the popular Black Eyed Peas song “My Humps,” which he insisted was”thematically relevant.”
