After filming 2011’s Thor, director Kenneth Branagh noticed that the prop hammer -Mjolnir - had gone missing, distressing the famous director who had planned to keep it as a memento. Actor Tom Hiddleston, a longtime friend of Branagh’s, is reported to have taken the prop. He currently has no plans to return it, and is “not sorry.”

Director Kenneth Branagh insists that his 2011 film Thor is actually based around actor Jeremy Renner’s character, Hawkeye. He does admit that Chris Hemsworth’s cameo as Thor “got out of hand.”
Actor Clark Gregg actually declined to appear in 2011’s Thor, citing a deep-set fear of Scandinavians as his reason (actors Stellan Skarsgård, Natalie Portman, and Idris Elba are of Scandinavian descent). His performance was cobbled together from his previous filmography. This scene originally appeared in the 2000 Paul Thomas Anderson film, Magnolia.

Director Kenneth Branagh was reportedly so pleased with this scene from 2011’s Thor that he had this image of actor Chris Hemsworth printed onto t-shirts, hats and coffee mugs which he gave to the film crew. Mr. Hemsworth was heard to remark that Mr. Branagh was a “wacky guy” who “liked his jokes.”
During the filming of 2011’s Thor, actress Natalie Portman is said to have coined the term “Thor Diet,” referring to co-star Christopher Hemsworth’s eating regimen. The “Thor Diet” consists of raw eggs, snow cones, and Pepto Bismol mixed with cayenne peppers. Ms. Portman and Mr. Hemsworth were reportedly not speaking to one another by the time filming wrapped.
During the filming of Thor, actor Anthony Hopkins was known to write his lines on the back of his eyepatch.
